These terms cover your use of Receipt Scanner Free (the "service"). By using the service you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
Using the service
Receipt Scanner Free is provided for scanning, editing, and exporting your own receipts and expense records. You agree not to use it to process images you don't have the right to use, to attempt to disrupt or overload the service, or to reverse engineer the Advanced AI scan beyond what's needed for ordinary use.
Your data and content
You own the receipts and expense data you scan. Free scans are processed entirely in your browser and never reach our servers. If you use the Advanced AI scan, the receipt image is sent to our AI provider solely to extract structured data and is not retained afterward. See the privacy page for the full breakdown.
No warranty
The service is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. OCR results, including both the free on-device scan and the Advanced AI scan, can misread amounts, dates, or line items, especially on faded, skewed, or handwritten receipts. Always review extracted data before relying on it for bookkeeping, tax filing, or reimbursement.
Data loss
Your expense history is stored only in your browser's local storage. Clearing your browser's site data, switching browsers or devices, or uninstalling the app will permanently delete it, since nothing is backed up on our servers. Export a copy to CSV or PDF for anything you need to keep.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Receipt Scanner Free is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including lost data, missed deadlines, or errors in scanned data.
Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated from time to time as the service changes. Continued use of the service after an update means you accept the revised terms. Questions can be sent through the contact page.
